About Tripping the Wasteland

Tripping the Wasteland is a blog devoted to discussing and analyzing popular culture, interrogating both the texts themselves and the broader cultural context in which they exist.

The name, 'Tripping the Wasteland' is meant as an ironic reference to FCC Chairman Newton Minow's 1961 address to the National Association of Broadcasters titled "Television and the Public Interest", in which he referred to television as "a vast wasteland".

Since this blog is, at present, a one woman show, there will be many areas of popular culture that will not be discussed.  If you are interested in contributing to the site, please contact me.
