Today was one of those days that got me thinking about jobs/careers/etc.
First, I turned in an application to teach an Intro to Film class at the community college one night a week next fall.
Then, TV critic Alan Sepinwall announced that he's leaving The Star-Ledger and taking a job at the entertainment website Hitfix. It's a sad day for print journalism that they are loosing such a fantastic critic but good for Alan.
And finally, I had this little exchange with TV Guide Magazine critic Damian Holbrook (chronologically top to bottom):
I read something like that and I wonder what the hell I'm doing. I want to write about TV. Maybe in an academic setting or maybe just online like this blog (which I would have more time for if I was teaching instead of working 8-5).
Lots to think about.
